Who am I? I am a Christian, husband, father, son, brother, friend, reader, et al, all inadequately. This blog is a tool to encourage daily bible reading, for myself and others. I have great love for the Word, and have decided for 2017 to blog my experience in daily reading the greatest book and truth we have and can know. Raised in a strong church family, I have been a committed Christian since 1986. I have loved the Bible as God's eternal Word and Truth to us since I was a child, before I could even appreciate the fullness of what it meant, or who God was. I made a personal decision for Christ in university, and received my first 'good' Bible as a gift from my parents. I have since been challenged and grown in faith based on the Word, sola scriptura, aided by others who love and cherish the Bible, and the God of the Bible. This blog aims to share those loves.
Why blog? As I started reading Genesis 1, and a 2017 bible reading plan, I saw things I wanted to share. The Bible is worth reading, and is extremely accessible to readers. Yes, some things are complex and difficult and require more effort (2 Peter 3:15-16), but the Bible would not rank as it does if it were inaccessible to average readers, and not just academic scholars. The truth of what we need to know and understand in the bible is 'available' to those who read with open eyes, minds, and hearts. This blog aims to share some of that, and encourage you to do the same.
